Neopentyl Glycol (NPG)
Key monomer for polyester resins, powder coatings, and lubricants
About Neopentyl Glycol (NPG)
Neopentyl Glycol (NPG, 2,2-dimethyl-1,3-propanediol) is a white crystalline diol produced by the condensation of formaldehyde and isobutyraldehyde. Its neopentyl structure — two methyl groups on the central carbon — imparts excellent hydrolytic and oxidative stability to the polyesters and alkyd resins derived from it, resulting in superior weathering resistance and colour retention in coatings.

- Polyester resins (unsaturated and saturated)
- Powder coatings
- Alkyd resins and varnishes
- Synthetic lubricants and plasticisers
- Polyurethane applications
